How Fixed Braces Treatment Works
Individual Consultation
The first step on the braces journey is an assessment with a specialist orthodontist. They carry out a detailed physical examination, take x-rays, or images and get to know you.
Understanding your teeth is naturally important, although so is appreciating your wishes and preferences. Your case may be best treated by fixed braces, or they could be your choice.
There are advantages, treatment is more or less guaranteed to work, no need to worry about managing, or swapping aligners, a consistent, straightforward experience.
Every option which is suited to your needs will be discussed, along with cost, time required for treatment and any questions you raise. Where fixed braces are selected, treatment can soon begin.
Fitting & Adjustments
An appointment will be made for fitting, this takes a while but is not a painful procedure. Once the braces are in place, your orthodontist will set them up precisely for first stage change.
About every 6 weeks, you return to our London clinic for a check up and adjustment. As the shape of your teeth improves, small changes to the braces are made to continue movement in the right direction.
There will be ample time for you to discuss any concerns you have, or to review progress, the appointment is yours.
Treatment Timeline
Treatment duration is also individual and could vary from 12 to 24 months, depending on the complexity of your case. The key is to ensure the changes you want come to fruition.
